Faith is an Evangelical Church in the historic Reformed tradition and a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC).
Faith is an orthodox Trinitarian church, affirming with the Church throughout history and throughout the world, the Apostles’ Creed.
I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell:
The third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead:
I believe in the Holy Ghost:
I believe in the holy catholic church: the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting. Amen.
When we say we are Evangelical, we stand within Protestantism for salvation by faith alone, not a result of works, so that no one may boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). We believe the gospel must be believed and proclaimed by Christians for our own sanctification and the salvation of a lost and dying world.
All Scripture is self-attesting and being Truth, requires our unreserved submission in all areas of life. The infallible Word of God, the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is a complete and unified witness to God’s redemptive acts culminating in the incarnation of the Living Word, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible, uniquely and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, is the supreme and final authority on all matters on which it speaks.
The Reformed tradition traces its roots back to the Reformation, specifically to the teachings of a French theologian named John Calvin and to the Westminster Confession in England a century later. The Reformed tradition is known for teaching a God-centered view of all things and the sovereignty of God over all of creation and our salvation. We emphasize, with the Reformers, that salvation comes from God who has ordered all things to bring glory to Himself. As the Westminster Catechism states,
Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.
